Atari 2600 cartridge slot pins snapped?

OK, I have 4 Atari 2600%26#039;s, 3 of them are fine but on one of them the plastic pins on the cartridge slot ,that allow you to play the games with a dust gate, have broken off. I still have the bits of plastic but super glue and plastic glue isn%26#039;t working. Can i remove the dust gate from the games? If so, how? Is there a way i can make make-shift plastic pins?

Cheers,

Jordan|||You can open up the console. An idea I am having although I don%26#039;t know if this is a good idea is to take the console apart. See if the is anything right below where the pins may be then get some metal rod and drill into the stops where the pins were and glue them in place.

I would also recommend buying a small tube of silicone sealant and trying that stuff after you have cleaned the old stuff out. Super glue is crap and so is plastic glue. But when you use silicone sealant you would need a way to hold the tabs in place.
